    The Federal Reserve is eeking an enthusiastic and experienced cyber professional with strong technical skills and leadership acumen to join thier Cyber Fusion Center (CFC) team.

    With an eye towards the future, the Cyber Detection/Response Officer will help ensure the technical integrity of cybersecurity strategic plans, roadmaps, and projects. Additionally, this role will be expected to take on the leadership of major cybersecurity incidents including the management of response, containment, and investigation efforts as well as communications to internal and external stakeholders. This role, reporting directly to the Incident Response Officer, is an exciting opportunity for a cybersecurity specialist to lead cyber security incidents, shape service direction, and the cybersecurity technologies of the Federal Reserve System.

    The Office of the Chief Information Security Officer's National Incident Response Team (NIRT), a CFC, brings together experts across multiple disciplines to deliver cross-functional, cybersecurity services to support the protection of mission-critical applications and systems that support market operations, financial institution supervision, services to banking organizations, services to the U.S. Treasury Department, and internal Federal Reserve System operations. The mission of the National Incident Response Team is to play a leading role in the Federal Reserve System's efforts to protect its information systems against unauthorized use.

    What You Will Do:
    • Direct cyber response services and capabilities, serving as the Incident Commander for major security events; serve as a cross-functional subject matter expert, and coordinator across complex incidents, projects, strategic initiatives, and System priorities for the CFC.
    • Develop and implement strategies furthering processes, capabilities, and optimizations to detection and response, and System cybersecurity services.
    • Provide deep technical expertise to drive defense and response capabilities to critical operational areas; support managing or directing response activities during significant enterprise-level cyber incidents or emerging cyber threat conditions.
    • Enable informed risk decisions by senior executive leadership and business line executives through coordinating high impact written and verbal briefings on sensitive cyber security matters.
    • Demonstrate a passion for coaching and mentorship to foster personal and professional growth; be an active thought leader to help shape our future environment through strategic relationships.


    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
    • 10+ years of cybersecurity experience (forensics, malware analysis, threat-hunting etc.) in a highly complex 24/7 enterprise IT environment.
    • Progressive management & leadership experience with responsibility for leading or influencing highly technical staff
    • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret level security clearance

    • The national hiring range for the Cyber Detection/Response Officer is $172,900-$237,710 annually. For candidates in certain markets (Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; New York City Metro Area, Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA) the listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.
